ARe, an augmented reality platform focusing on the Central and Eastern European region is announcing an open competition for Ukrainian artists and designers. ARe aims to use its platform to highlight Ukrainian creatives through augmented reality. Technology can play an important role in building bridges between displaced artists and global audiences, and the ARe platform can amplify and support the value created by Ukrainian creatives during these challenging times.
Creatives can submit works of art and designs that already exist in physical form (e.g., sculpture, furniture, clothing, or any other 3D object), but we also accept design patterns.
No prior experience with augmented reality is required. Selected objects will be converted to 3D digital objects by the ARe development team.
The theme is an open, comprehensive opportunity to present high-quality objects through the ARe mobile app. 80% of smartphones are capable of using AR technology, so selected works of art and designs can reach millions of mobile phone users after downloading the ARe mobile app.
Requirements:
Submissions are not limited by formats, but our technology works best with 3D artwork and objects.
People over the age of 18 can participate.
Entries are accepted in English only.
Up to three works per artist/designer can be submitted.
Submission process:
Send at least 3 pictures or design patterns of each of your works to hello@areapp.net
Explain the idea behind the works and include your website or portfolio to the application.
If possible, send pictures that show the work/object from different views.
Selection:
Our curatorial team selects the first group of participants.
Selected works are converted into digital 3D objects by the ARe development team (no items need to be delivered, the development team can work with images).
Digital objects will be highlighted on the ARe platform and mobile application.
Artists/designers will own all 3D assets of their digital objects and will be completely free to use them for their own communication or sales purposes. Artists/designers can sell their digital work, ARe won’t ask for a commission.
Visit the ARe website for more detailed information about the technology, and download the ARe mobile application to see what 3D digital objects look like.
